CNC Equipment is used in the throughout the entire manufacturing
process, from bending machines to end formers and cutting machines.
In addition to CNC machines, a number of robotic welding cells co mplement
our team of highly skilled welders. Quality control is done during
every stage of manufacturing, leading not only to a visually appealing
product, but a product that fits and performs the way it should.

The
majority of our product is mandrel bent. Mandrel bending is
a bending process where the diameter of the tube remains constant
throughout the entire bend, no crushing or wrinkling, that is
most common in the 
aftermarket. This process, while substantially more expensive,
is vastly superior type of bend. Not only does it eliminate
restriction in exhaust flow, but also keeps fuel economy at
factory specifications. Traditional crush or wrinkled bending
reduces fuel economy and introduces ' hot spots' in every bend.
In addition to the bending process, the tube material has a
direct impact on how down-stream converters function, tubing
that is too thin will radiate an excessive amount of heat which
results in converters being less effective |
The
direct fit products at the Exhaust Source are designed as bolt-on,
for a fast and easy installation. Our catalytic converters are
all EPA  approved
and legal for use in all States except California. A special
line of converters specifically made and LEGAL for the California
market are available and introduced on a weekly basis. We carry
a massive inventory, currently at over 80,000 sq.ft., of packaged
product ready to ship. Manufacturing is carried out on 2 daily
shifts to constantly replenish inventory levels. Our Research
and Development department releases new applications every day.
These new SKU's are not a copy of another manufacturer's product,
but rather an engineered product, that has been developed and
tested on a vehicle. This means NO surprises when you go to

IS a California OBD-II catalytic converter |

certification was considered to be a rather significant measure
of quality until OBD-II standards came into effect in 1996.
Under these new standards, each vehicle would monitor its own
emission compliance by actively measuring the oxygen content
of the exhaust gases. Under these new requirements, CARB and
the EPA established a new compliance standard known as OBD-II
certification. Federal OBD-II standards simply dictate that
the converters must meet certain efficiency requirements, must
be three way type converters, and must have some means of oxygen
storage, most often cerium based. California OBD-II certification
is not a broad test that covers all vehicles or all engines.
California OBD-II certification is approved on individual applications,
e.g. 1999 GM 3.8L and does not automatically certify the converter
for a GM 3.4L or 3.1L even though they are smaller engines.
In addition it does not automatically certify the part for a
different car with the same engine. The test must be repeated
for each intended application and approved for that application.
